He therefore the vicar proposed the verger to learn to read and write and gave him a period of 3 months or asked him to leave the job. St. Peter’s Church was always famous for its fashionable weddings and funerals it was in a very good neighbourhood and the parishioners were only a very nice class of people. That evening there had been a christening ceremony in the church which was attended by the new vicar. The new Vicar was newly appointed and had come from East end. He was a red face and energetic man. He performed very well in the christening ceremony as he could nearly always quiet a whimpering child. He was praised by the Verger and it was a matter of subdued pride for the Vicar. The Vicar could do it very well and he was not even unconscious of the amused admiration with which the mother and the nurses watched him settled a baby in the crook of his surplice arm. Albert Edward too knew that it pleased the seeker as he was complimented on his talent.
